What is the Challenge?
A twilight into the night, team-based orienteering walk, solving questions along the route, as you trek between the checkpoints
There are two routes to choose from: a short one around 8 miles, with a long route of around 15 miles
Teams comprise a minimum of 3 to maximum 8 people
Prizes are won including for Sponsorship raised and Questions answered
Free Refreshments along the way
Entry Fees of £30 and £12 are charged for those over or under 18 years of age
Early bird entry is available for registrations before 1 September 2026 at £25 and £10 for those over or under 18 years of age
All that is asked is that you aim to raise £25 per person and enjoy the Challenge!
The short route appeals to all and is suitable for younger or less experienced walkers, or those who haven't taken up the challenge before
The long route is more challenging for the more experienced and adventurous
Short route earlier start time should enable completion mostly before dark
Why take up the Challenge?
It's great fun, exercise for both brain and body and a really terrific way to raise money for very deserving causes!
Most teams return year-after-year, enjoying testing their skills at navigating new routes and answering challenging questions, especially as it's dark!
Teams love the fact that in entering they are also raising substantial funds for local charities!
Remember the earlier you enter, the more choice of start time you have!
Who Benefits?
This year the primary charity is;
St Margaret's Hospice Care
Various other charities, supported by the Rotary Club of Taunton Vale, will also benefit from funds raised with this event
